Cookie policy

In short

• The website’s public pages set no cookies of their own and contain no analytics or advertising scripts, so there are no analytics or advertising consent categories.

What is kept in your browser

• “mak:portfolio” in session storage (sessionStorage): remembers the Projects page filters when you open a project and come back. It is cleared when the tab is closed and never sent to the server.
• “mak:maps” in session storage: kept only after you press “Show the interactive map”, to remember that choice on other pages in the same tab. It is cleared when the tab is closed, or when you press “Turn off the map”.
• “mak:notice” in session storage: kept only when the information notice is shown and you press “Hide notice”, so it stays hidden in the same tab unless its text changes. It is cleared when the tab is closed and never sent to the server.

Outside services

• Some project images are hosted on images.pexels.com. Showing them makes your browser connect to Pexels’ servers, which may set the cookies __cf_bm and _cfuvid on pexels.com (Cloudflare security cookies). The site neither reads nor controls them, and cannot switch them off while those images are shown.
• Interactive map: loaded only after you press “Show the interactive map”. Your browser then loads the Leaflet library from unpkg.com and map images from maps.geoapify.com, and these services receive your IP address, browser details and the site’s address. Without it, the project lists, addresses and directions links stay available.
• Directions links (Google or Apple Maps) and WhatsApp links open those services only when you select them.

Staff dashboard

• The staff dashboard uses the cookies __Host-mak-session and __Host-mak-signin (secure, not readable by scripts) for staff sign-in only. Website visitors never receive them.

Your control

• The map: its services do not load unless you press “Show the interactive map”. Once it is on, a “Turn off the map” button on the map removes your choice from the tab and reloads the page without it, so its services are not loaded on this page or the tab’s next pages until you ask for it again.
• “Turn off the map” does not delete cookies the map services or Pexels may have set on their own domains, and does not stop project images hosted on Pexels from being shown. You can clear session storage and cookies in your browser settings at any time.
